Since we are trying to address I-140 delays in general at TSC and NSC, can we just send a general letter to Ombudsman's office without specifying our case and DHS Form 7001 ?
This way it will turn out to be a letter campaign.

dont forget the fact that EAD and AP are issued for 12 months, you have to renew each year. It is recommended that you apply for EAD/AP renewal at least 180-90 days in advance to prevent periods where your current EAD has expired while you wait for the renewed one...welcome to the new nightmare, someone did say something about the grass been green on the other side..now that we are on the other side we wait for 485 to be current while we renew EAD/AP each year, fingerprint every 15 months and aviod the namecheck black hole...maybe this is what they(uscis) wanted after all...a steady income stream...good luck :)

My DL expring in Sept. filed for 10th year extenison, I live in NY.
NY DL have 2 dates, One in Top with RED Bold letters its called Temp Visa Date and at botton DL exprie date. I have contacted in DMV office. They said I can drive using bottom Exprie date which is exprie in 2010(mine) ,But I cant use the DL as ID if Temp VISA expire on DL.Unless I renew it with approved H1B visa date.So I have to Carry Passport ,recepit copy and Employer lettter with all time just as proof if cop caught me.

Not sure if anyone else has faced this so wanted to put this out: I own a home and have a loan on it since 2003 (I was on H1 when i took the loan), now that the ARM is about to adjust i am in the market for refinance.
There is however a question on all the loans underwritten by freddy/fanny asking for immigration status and if the answer is EAD the loan is denied. They even sent me an explanation of denial.....:confused:
A loan application can be denied for any reason and as amatter of fact due to current financial mess, lenders are very wary. So don't be surprised by denial. Try another place.
I secured loan after 2.5 months of constant battle. My lender tried all possible means to discourage me and only after I fired-back with technical arguments did they clear my loan. But than I was also asking for 5% down, which nowdays is no more entertained by lenders.
Try different sources and atleast you have the house in possesion. You will get a new lender, don't worry!

Not sure if something is cooking at USCIS, last week an USCIS office called my attroney to get clarification on why we (my wife and I) are residing at separate addresses. We are in the process of relocation (company moved), my wife chose to continue her employment while she's searching for opportunities in the new location. The officer stated that they are trying to adjudicate the cases ASAP, hence he's inquiring to ensure there isnt any marriage fraud. My attorney responsed back will all the possible evidence to proved we are together.
Has anyone had a similar experience.

USCIS/DOL system is getting sophisticated day by day. I am positive that they must have some triggers in the system that will automatically notify Immigration Officers about suspicious activity.
Now a day�s USCIS is trying to deny as many cases as possible. So, they don�t want to miss any opportunity to deny or investigate your case.
It is not pre adjudication process. It is aggressive denials.

Trust me, after waiting at PBEC for almost 2 years,I know what BEC is. I was just saying that a person who got LC certified in 2004 didn't have to go thru BEC. They started transferring cases at the beginning of 2005.

When a girl comes to US for a job as a nurse and starts earning a good salary. The parents try to get some money from her. they build good house to make a show. Once the money starts pouring in, the (brother)son wants to do some business, build a house, the relatives start. My wifes relatives (dad's sisters) called up for money. " you guys are earning good in US, we want to build a house. When can you send me couple of lakhs".
I hate south indian nurses who came to US alone for jobs and more than that their parents who send them to earn money. I married a south indian nurse. The expectation from a daugther is more than a son because they tell their daughters once you become a nurse and go to US/UK or elsewhere i will start a business. "Our neighbour's daughter is in UK and they have a good house." Another great thing is once the girl is a nurse, guys come running to marry them and enjoy their life raising kids and the wife works at the hospital. I know several guys who got a green card through a nurse, works part time and take care of the kids. In that case the girl buys property at her dads house settles under her dad's wishes and should not do so when they married a person who earns the same salary as hers.
I really don't understand the meaning of marriage if its like a slavery.
My suggestion to those who are not married,
Marriage is very good if both of them know their responsibilities. Before marriage know each other for more than 3 years then get married. talk about whats their thinking about marriage. IS she going to change her last name after marriage. This seems small but the surroundings make the life miserable after some years. How are you going to control the finances etc..
As one of the old hindi dialogues, before marriage ... like moon(chand), after marriage .. like suraj (sun) and after having a baby - like a fire(juala).

In the past, we have sent emails and webfaxes to senators only to get canned- pre typed responses. Recently, I have realised that senators favour written letters, posted (with postage stamp) especially if it comes from constituents from their state. Same with house reps. I have talked to my senator's staff and they have advised me to write a letter. The staff member said, letters are always read, and responded.
Senator will send an inquiry to the appropriate agency. This will create an impact, if all of us write letters. I have written a letter about USCIS Visa- flip flop to my senators.

There are so many who missed the July 07...
we should try to seek temporary relief..allowing to file for 485 even without PD veing current.
CIR will happen when it has to happen..maybe after the health bill ...but IV not doing anything else while waiting for it is sad....
Second that! I hope something happens, is there any information as to when the pre-filing for I485 will be implemented.

Let me help you here: the USCIS receive 2.5 million applications in july and august 2007 ('The surge'). For most of the ones who applied, I don't think we will see the dates move much in the near future... But I don't know so, keep the faith. Miracles are still possible

I hope in the visa statistics for the year 2008 they don't come up with a report saying that 20,000 visas were lost as they were unused :D.

I am of the opinion that the dates might retrogress to somewhere in 2005 June as the worst case (by Oct-Nov), because the 05 numbers should really be low to start with due to PERM issues. Again this is just my educated guess.
